3. Service Description
Goldlatitude operates an educational reading library and a workshop series focused on general information about retirement preparation in the Malaysian context. Our programmes are educational in nature and are directed at adults in mid-career through to early retirement who wish to read, discuss, and better understand publicly available information on this topic.
Programmes are offered in Kuala Lumpur, with certain elements — including monthly discussion calls and intake interviews — available remotely by video call to participants located elsewhere in Malaysia.
Goldlatitude does not operate outside Malaysia and makes no representation that its content is suitable for residents of other jurisdictions.
4. Registration
Registration for a programme is completed by submitting an enquiry via our website contact form or by contacting us directly by telephone. A registration is confirmed only when Goldlatitude sends a written confirmation and the applicable fee has been received in full.
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information at the time of registration. If information changes after registration, please notify us promptly at [email protected].
Goldlatitude reserves the right to decline a registration at its discretion, in which case any fee paid will be refunded in full.
5. User Responsibilities
Participants are expected to engage with programmes in good faith and in a manner that is respectful of other participants and the team. When attending workshops or using the reading library, you agree to:
- Conduct yourself courteously and respectfully toward other participants and staff.
- Not record, photograph, or distribute session content without prior written consent from Goldlatitude.
- Not represent session discussions or reading materials as personal financial, legal, or other professional advice when sharing them with others.
- Return borrowed library materials promptly and in the condition in which they were received.
- Not reproduce or distribute Goldlatitude's printed Content to third parties without prior written consent.
Goldlatitude reserves the right to ask any participant who disrupts a session or behaves inappropriately to leave the premises, without refund.
6. Intellectual Property
All Content produced by Goldlatitude — including workshop handouts, annotated bibliographies, reading plans, and written reflections — is the intellectual property of Goldlatitude. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use such Content for your own personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, or share Goldlatitude Content with any third party without prior written consent.
The books, articles, and government publications referenced in our programmes remain the intellectual property of their respective authors and publishers. Goldlatitude does not claim any rights over third-party material and directs participants to obtain such material through legitimate channels.
7. Payment Terms
All programme fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Payment is due in full prior to the commencement of any programme unless otherwise agreed in writing with Goldlatitude.
Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of registration. Goldlatitude does not store payment card details.
Cancellations and substitutions: Cancellations and substitutions are handled by direct conversation with the team. Goldlatitude does not apply a fixed cancellation schedule but will endeavour to find a fair resolution for each situation. Where a refund is agreed, it will be processed within 14 business days.
Goldlatitude reserves the right to adjust programme fees for future seasons. Any fee adjustment will not affect participants who have already paid for the current season or programme period.
8. Programme-Specific Terms
8.1 Public Workshop Season Ticket
The season ticket grants attendance at four quarterly workshops during the relevant annual season. Workshops are held in Kuala Lumpur. If a participant cannot attend a scheduled session, they should notify the team as early as possible. Goldlatitude will make reasonable efforts to accommodate participants in a future session, but cannot commit to this in every case.
8.2 Custom Reading Programme Subscription
The reading programme begins on the date of the intake interview and runs for six calendar months. The programme includes five monthly discussion calls and one final reflection session. Calls will be rescheduled where reasonable notice is given. Printed materials will be posted to the participant's address within Malaysia; posting outside Malaysia is not available.
8.3 Library Sponsorship and Private Sessions
The sponsorship runs for twelve months from the date of confirmation. Six private sessions may be taken at any point during the sponsorship year at the participant's preferred pace. Unused sessions do not carry over to a subsequent year. The sponsorship also includes the annual season ticket, granting access to all four quarterly public workshops.
9. Disclaimers
Goldlatitude's programmes are provided for general educational and informational purposes only. Nothing in any programme, session, handout, reading list, bibliography, or written reflection constitutes financial, legal, investment, tax, or other regulated professional advice.
Participants who require specific advice on their own financial, legal, or related personal circumstances should seek the services of qualified, licensed professionals independently of Goldlatitude.
Goldlatitude makes no representation that the information in its programmes is complete, current, or free from error, though it takes reasonable care to use verifiable publicly available sources and to review its materials annually.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Goldlatitude's total liability to any participant for any claim arising from participation in a programme or use of the reading library is limited to the amount paid by that participant for the relevant programme in the preceding twelve months.
Goldlatitude is not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or incidental loss or damage arising out of or in connection with any programme or the reading library, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of savings, or financial decisions made based on programme content.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Goldlatitude and its team members from any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms and Conditions, your misuse of programme Content, or your conduct at any workshop or on our premises.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate participation in a programme by providing written notice to the other. Where Goldlatitude terminates participation due to the participant's breach of these terms, no refund will be due. Where either party terminates for any other reason, Goldlatitude will assess and communicate any applicable refund on a case-by-case basis.
The provisions of sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimers), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), and 13 (Dispute Resolution) survive termination of any agreement between the participant and Goldlatitude.
13. Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or any programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
Before initiating any formal proceedings, the parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute by informal negotiation. Either party may initiate this process by writing to the other setting out the nature of the dispute and the resolution sought. The parties will make good-faith efforts to resolve the dispute within 30 days of such notice.
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, the dispute may be referred to mediation under the rules of the Malaysian Mediation Centre before recourse to litigation, though this step is not mandatory.
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement. These Terms and Conditions, together with any programme confirmation provided at registration, constitute the entire agreement between you and Goldlatitude regarding the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior discussions or representations.
- Severability. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
- Waiver. Goldlatitude's failure to enforce any provision of these terms on any occasion does not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce that provision on any future occasion.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms to any third party without Goldlatitude's prior written consent.
- Notices. Notices to Goldlatitude should be sent to [email protected] or by post to Wisma KFC, Suite 17-3, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur.
15. Changes to Terms
Goldlatitude may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify registered participants by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The current version of these terms is always available on our website.
Your continued participation in a programme after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
